Drawings on photographs

As a photographer, I am both stimulated and limited by my surroundings when capturing a moment.

Sometimes, there is only so much a picture can reveal. Frustrated by those limitations, I decided to add some written comments or drawings in order to perfectly depict the moment I was living.

These comments at times carry a slightly ironic tone, inviting the spectator to question and reconsider (one of) the reality(ies) he is confronted to. They also reflect a part of my inner world with somewhat more profound questions coming through my mind, and often imply a large dose of humor.

Italy

Memories from an extraordinary sailing trip through the Bay of Napoli, where azure waters meet rugged coastlines adorned with ancient ruins and vibrant villages. As a photographer, this journey promised a myriad of timeless moments and sceneries to immortalize.



Christo & Jeanne-Claude

In an extraordinary act of creativity and courage, Christo and Jeanne-Claude reimagined the Arc de Triomphe as a temporary work of art. Wrapped in shimmering fabric, the monument became something both familiar and completely new, a dialogue between history and imagination.

Stockholm Archipelago

Shortly after the first lockdown in 2020, I went to the Stockholm archipelago to spend a few days with a Swedish friend (Chloe) and her grandparents, Mormor and Morfar.

Life there moves at a different pace. Through a quiet, minimal series of photos, I tried to capture what their days look like: simple, peaceful, and deeply connected to nature.

Their story is a gentle reminder of how beautiful life can be when we slow down, let go of distractions, and find joy in small things and in each other.

Ile d'Yeu

In the heart of France's Atlantic coast lies the beautiful island of Ile d'Yeu, where I spent all my summers since the age of three. Above the fact that this place holds my dearest and most tender memories with my friends and family, it is also famous for its unique light. In fact, many were the artists to come this island to paint or draw which constitutes an even more special scenery to capture as a photographer.
